Matt B definitely falls into that “best dude” category. He doesn’t come by the park often, but when he does, it’s always a pleasure. His fakie and switch game is unmatched and he took an unthinkable backside 180 nosegrind the distance! Yeah, Matt!-TWS Skate Mag
theyre callin that a fakie smith? nah nah. fakie smith ought to tell you its a regularly positioned smith grind only yer going backwards, right? what the fuck else would that be? theres gotta be some differentiation, and my best suggestion is call the one here a fakie to switch smith. now more than ever, with dudes like matt b getting all kinds of weird with such moves, im gonna argue that accurate terminology is important.

Yeah I have no idea what that would be called.
If a fakie nosegrind is a fakie switch 5-0...?

Ham Nasty, your suggestion of calling fakie smith smith would definitely not be falling under the "accurate terminology" department. Try again.

hang on i got it. its a fakie willy grind. damn im embarrassed that i completely forgot about that trick - a smith on the front truck - still kind of an obscure move. i think its a trick a lot of dudes are still uncomfortable with for one reason or another - be it a phallic reference or purely for aesthetics sake. shit wheel made a good point, and its something i forgot about in my first comment. i think the rule is the classification of the grind follows the entry method - ollie/nollie/fakie/switch. [i.e. fakie 5-0 is a fakie pop into a 5-0 on your natural back truck. fakie nosegrind goes to your natural front truck, etc]. how you get onto the ledge or rail dictates the way you name the grind/slide, so for example its not 180 to switch 5-0, its 180 nosegrind. wow dorking out here - i guess you get sensitive about these things when you get a little older.
